Northwest Weather
Tuesday November 23rd 2010
Greg left the Northwest Riders' office early Monday morning just ahead of the snow storm that struck Seattle and a good chunk of Washington. He made it down south to Oregon for some shop visits as we make our push to pick up some new stores for selling the Northwest Riders brand. After some good interest and a new account acquisition, Mr. Young was pretty much in "plan change" mode.
The original plan was a little van sleeping at night as Greg hit up shops along the Oregon Coast into Eugene during the day. He made it to Eugene, but it was mostly to escape the snow above him on the 'ol map. The swankiness of a Motel 6 became the stronghold of choice Monday night as Tuesday morning presented icy roads that unfortunately don't play nice with the '86 Clubwagon.
After multiple sell-outs on Amtrak and buses not much more open in the options department, we thought Greg would be stuck in Oregon for Thanksgiving as he waited out the weather and spent the holiday in the previously mentioned Motel 6. But hold on...
It appears that Greg may just make it home for the holidays a'la Planes, Trains, and Automobiles thanks to the lovely Amtrak worker that helped him out. This same Amtrak employee turned out to be the mother of the recently deceased body boarder from Santa Barbara County that was killed by a shark just 3 weeks or so ago. So a HUGE thank you to her for helping Greg make it home. We're sorry for the loss of your son and your family is in our prayers this holiday season.
See you when you get here Greg-O! Safe travels my man.
